Galway City on the West Coast of Ireland is the European Capital of Culture for 2020.
Galway 2020 promises a great year in the city along with the International Arts Festival and of course, the famous Galway Races. The Galway Races get underway at the end of July while the International Arts Festival is held annually during July. This year The Pixies and Sinead O’Connor will be making an appearance on the stage.
There will be over 1200 shows and exhibitions happening to showcase Galway City at its best. The opening ceremony for Galway 2020 will be happening on Saturday 8th February at 6.00pm at South Park, Claddagh, Galway in the presence of President Michael D. Higgins.
