The Galway Atlantaquaria

About the Galway Atlantaquaria

The Galway Atlantaquaria is Ireland’s national aquarium. It is ideally located in Salthill just outside the city. It holds the country’s best aquarium featuring both fresh and saltwater exhibits. The route is spread over two floors taking the visitor through the journey of the salmon while explaining the complex Irish aquatic landscape from glacial streams to the Atlantic Ocean.

With over 170 different species of fish on display, there is lots to see and do. If you are there on time, you can even help out with feeding time at the starfish exhibit! Visitors can experience close up views of native shark species, conger eels, rays, seahorses and so much more, all under one roof.
