Opening the weekend on Thursday night October 26th, Irish legends Aslan will take to the stage for an intimate gig in The Quays in the heart of the city. Tickets are available now from The Quays bar. Galway Races – October Racing Festival
Didn’t make it to Galway for the summer festival? Or just want another taste of the action?! Taking place on October 29th and 30th, the October Racing Festival is a much more relaxed affair and family friendly with all kids under the age of 16 welcome to come along for free. With indoor family entertainment, a Halloween Fancy Dress party for the kids and live music, it’s a great way to spend the bank holiday!

 

Galway Aboo Halloween Festival
Spanning the whole weekend, the streets of Galway will be transformed to celebrate one of the country’s largest Halloween festivals. With events and activities organised for all ages, there’s loads to see and do over the weekend. The now famous Macnas Halloween parade will be kicking off the festivities in the city and will showcase some of the most amazing theatrical costumes in the country. Carnevil www.carnevil.ie will be held in the old printing press building of the Connacht Tribune on Market St, this is suitable for over 16s. For the kids. they are all invited to come trick-or-treating to the Galway Bay Ghost Ship. There will be spooky story telling and treats for the best costumes and is free for all to attend.

 

Halloween Bonfire and Storytelling at Brigits Garden
Head to Brigit’s Garden for a fun evening of ghost stories told with an Irish twist with Celtic tales being spun into the storytelling. There will be face painting, a Halloween parade and all the traditional games as well as a BBQ in the evening in the Garden Cafe too.
