In recent years, Galway has become renowned not just nationally but internationally as a hub of food excellence. In recognition of this, Galway was named as European Region of Gastronomy at the IFAMA (International Food and Agribusiness Management Association) conference in August 2016. This is a prestigious honour and is the first time the title has been bestowed to an Irish region. This is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate Galway’s reputation in the food industry as a top destination for culinary excellence and also to promote the region on an international platform.
